Friendly staff who make you feel welcome and affordable, private rooms. The shared kitchen is large with everything needed to cook and provides a nice view. There are outdoor sitting areas including an impressive viewing platform and a pool. Towels and blankets are provided, and some rooms have views of the city.
Some guests exhibit rowdy behavior, which can disturb others' peace.

The location of the hotel was great as it was close to public transport and shops. the staff were very helpful and welcoming. the hostel had its own bar, which was a nice place to hang out and meet other travelers.
The facilities, especially the showers, were not up to standard. There were not enough plug sockets in the rooms and the beds were uncomfortable.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The facilities were amazing, including a rooftop with multiple areas to relax and play games. The hotel had great amenities such as a pool table, table tennis, cinema, and a bar that served food till late. The staff was helpful and friendly, always ready to assist us. Additionally, the hotel was in a convenient location, within walking distance of major attractions. Our private standard room was clean and spacious, and we slept well on the comfy bed. The toilets and showers were also clean, and the breakfast was a lovely touch.
Couldn't find any faults at all.

The complementary breakfast and WiFi were a pleasant surprise. the location was unbeatable, just a short walk from the bus and train station and close to cultural attractions. the rooftop pool and lounge area was a great place to relax after a busy day.
The coed washrooms were uncomfortable, and the showers needed more hooks for clothes. the kitchen and utensil use wasn't explained to us, almost ruining our Christmas Eve dinner plans.

Amazing View and Convenient Location
During my recent city break, I had an amazing stay in a hostel with an incredible view overlooking the city. The location was very convenient, with a nearby bus station and train station that made it easy to get around. The clean and spacious communal areas were great for relaxing and meeting new people.
My experience was somewhat dampened by the noise levels in the private room, with the walls being too thin and disruptive guests making it difficult to sleep at times. it was frustrating that long-term guests were allowed to leave their belongings all over the place, making the room messy and disorganized.

The location of City Backpackers HQ was fantastic, with easy access to public transportation and the vibrant Queen St Mall area. I loved the city views at night, it was truly a sight to behold. Despite being an older guest, the young travelers staying here were respectful and polite towards me, which made my stay more enjoyable. Opening the windows for fresh air was a huge plus, as I dislike sleeping with air conditioning. I had a pleasant experience at City Backpackers HQ.
